Community Engaged Learning Facilitator (CELF) Program

The Community Engaged Learning Facilitator (CELF) Program prepares 蜜芽视频 students to serve as relationship-builders, facilitators, and co-learners within community-engaged partnerships. CELFs support faculty, students, and community partners by helping cultivate meaningful learning experiences that are grounded in collaboration, reciprocity, and community-identified priorities.

Program Benefits

CELFs develop professional and leadership skills through active engagement in community-based learning experiences, including communication, time management, group facilitation, project coordination, and collaborative problem-solving.

Beyond skill development, CELFs deepen their understanding of community-engaged learning by building meaningful relationships with faculty, students, and community partners. Through this work, students engage with justice-centered issues, strengthen cultural humility, and learn to connect academic knowledge with real-world community contexts.

Ways CELFs Engage

Course-Based: CELFs partner with faculty, students, and community organizations to support community-engaged learning courses. In this role, they help coordinate communication, facilitate collaboration, and support projects that connect academic learning with community-identified priorities.

Community-Based: CELFs work alongside community partners to support engagement across one or more courses. They help strengthen relationships between campus and community, coordinate student involvement, and contribute to initiatives that respond to community needs and goals.

REFLECTION AND LEARNING

A core component of the CELF Program is ongoing reflection. CELFs engage in structured reflection throughout their experience to connect community engagement with academic learning, personal growth, and civic responsibility.

Through reflection, students critically examine their roles as co-learners and relationship-builders, deepen their understanding of community-engaged practice, and strengthen their commitment to collaborative and justice-centered leadership.
