Community Connections at ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ (CCLU)
In collaboration with the Disability Resource Center (DRC) in Joliet, the Office of Community Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL) hosts Community Connections at ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ (CCLU), a program that fosters inclusion, belonging, and meaningful participation in university life for young adults with disabilities.
CCLU supports participants in developing independent living, career readiness, social-emotional, and academic skills through structured, twice-weekly engagement on ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ’s campus.
Participants are welcomed into the life of the university, engaging in classroom-based learning, campus activities, special events, and student organizations. These experiences are designed to foster connection, self-advocacy, and confidence while building meaningful relationships within the campus community.
The program is facilitated by DRC staff in collaboration with ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ faculty, staff, and students, creating a shared learning environment grounded in inclusion, respect, and community partnership.
