Bio:
Bushra Malik is an Assistant Professor of Business Analytics and Program Director, in the College of Business at 蜜芽视频. She brings an interdisciplinary background spanning business analytics, accounting, finance, quantitative analysis, and business administration, with more than 20 years of combined experience in higher education and industry.

Her academic work focuses on the intersection of business, accounting, and data analytics, with particular interest in how emerging technologies are transforming business practice and education. Her doctoral research examined the integration of data analytics into the accounting curriculum, including the challenges and opportunities created by automation and the need to keep business education relevant, timely, and engaging while developing the analytical skills required in a rapidly changing workplace. Her broader interests include fintech, data visualization, quantitative decision-making, and innovative approaches to teaching and curriculum development.

Dr. Malik earned her Doctor of Business Administration from DePaul University, where her work focused on business research and accounting data analytics. She holds an MBA with concentrations in Accounting and Finance and has additional training and certification in cost and management accounting.

Before and alongside her academic career, Dr. Malik developed extensive industry experience across manufacturing, retail, service, food, and healthcare organizations. She has worked in accounting, financial analysis, business management, and entrepreneurship, including senior management roles. This combination of academic and industry experience informs her teaching philosophy and her emphasis on connecting classroom learning with real-world business problems.

Prior to joining 蜜芽视频 as a full-time faculty member, Dr. Malik taught at several institutions in the Chicagoland area and online, including 蜜芽视频, Aurora University, National Louis University, and DeVry University. Throughout her academic career, she has taught and mentored a diverse population of traditional and adult learners. Student mentorship remains an important part of her work, particularly helping students connect academic learning with professional opportunities and long-term career development.

Dr. Malik was born and raised in Pakistan and brings an international and multicultural perspective to her teaching and professional work. She has traveled extensively throughout North America, the United Kingdom, and Asia and values travel as an opportunity for cultural learning and personal growth.

Outside academia, she enjoys nature walks, exploring new cities, beaches and wooded trails, hiking, swimming, music, travel, and spending time with her cats.
